Job Wars, Episode I

As any person who has graduated can tell you the best way to get a full time job right out of school is to have a full time job as you are getting ready to graduate from school. I wish that someone had told me this because then, ya know, I could be making money. Well here I sit almost a month after graduating and I still have no job and really nothing that I can see, that is to say, if I got a job in the next 3 weeks I would be blindsided by it which I would not mind. But anyway, I have been looking since a bit before graduation but obviously not far enough out to find a job. I've been looking for things in my field, Broadcast Communications, and I've also been looking for office jobs and by office jobs I mean office assistant or Administrative assistant work. I have no qualms and about doing that. The one thing I don't want to do is something in sales because no matter what you're selling you're lying. You could be selling a drink that could cure cancer or anything that ails someone and you would have to tell some sort of lie to get someone to buy it and I just don't feel like lying anymore. I've done and do more than enough as an unemployed bum  to make up for not having that job.

Now I guess I'll discuss my long(er) term goals which have the interesting distinction of not being permanent (yet) I'm applying to teach English overseas, to be more specific, in Asia, to be brutally specific in 1)Japan and then 2)South Korea. No offense, South Korea but Japan is #1 because they are doing all their stuff first and when I say first I mean by like 6 months on my schedule of when I found out/realized I wanted to do this or something like it. It's the JET Program and its a long and grueling application process that officially started in late October and I won' hear about an interview until the end of this month and thats if...if I get an interview. I don't want to say I've put all my eggs in one basket because I haven't but if I were to just get an interview I would be happy to let the chips fall where they may... Of course I say that now God forbid I get and interview and am rejected I'll curse them til my dying days. So yea I'll be talking more about JET and EPIK(S.Korea) in the near future...like next post tomorrow morning
