Jobs in Sports Chemistry
With a degree in chemistry or in any kind of science field, you can get numerous jobs. One of the jobs you may be interested in is in sports chemistry. These kinds of jobs are varied in what you would be working with. You could be working with althetes, to help them improve their performance, or you could be working on making materials to improve sports equipment.
Here is a website that is more about getting a degree in sports medicine and getting a job after that.
Here is some information about working for Sports Technology International. They are the company that makes the polymers surfaces, that was featured in an earlier post. They have manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania, Shanghai, and Australia.
If you are interested in working closer to home, here is a website from BASF, and they are located in Research Triangle Park.Posted at 09:57AM Aug 04, 2006 by CHRISTIAN, CAROLINE in Chemistry and sports | Comments[7]
This lab has been a lot of fun with you as a TA Caroline. The in-lab instruction along with the blog has just created a learning environment that has been enjoyable. I didn't mind putting on jeans and close-toed shoes in the million degree heat because I knew lab was going to be fun. I've learned a lot and want to thank you for it. See you on Monday.

Thanks a lot for your nice comments Jeff. Thanks a lot to all of you for coming and not complaining about wearing jeans when it was so hot outside. I know I felt like complaining a couple of days. The last post is up! Enjoy!!

This blog has been great. Especially the sports webblogs. So anyway I had some questions about the sports topics about sports jobs. Do you know how much money individuals make who do jobs within sports chemistry and what kind of specific tasks do you do during your job. Does RTP have any cool opportunties within sports chemistry. Thanks for a great lab and I wish you the best of luck

I do not know how much money typically they would make, and what kind of specific tasks sports chemists would do. But I e-mailed the Gatorade sports institute, and hopefully they will get back to me. And as to the RTP, I do not believe that there are any companies there now that specifically do sports chemistry, but you never know in the future!! Thanks for all your comments and questions!

I loved reading the blog. Of course making chemistry interesting to me is a tough crack, but the sports info I loved.
Thanks

This blog is extremely interesting, even though it's been dead for quite some time. If this class/lab is ever offered in the future, I'd love to be notified.
