News Release - September 28, 2009

Dr. Hasan Jameel, Ellis Signe Olssen Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Department of Wood & Paper Science at North Carolina State University, has been selected by the College of Natural Resources to receive the Board of Governor's College Award for Excellence in Teaching.  Along with a cash award and recognition at a campus-wide event in the Spring, Jameel will be a nominee for the University Board of Governor's Award.

Dr. Robert D. Brown, dean of the NC State University College of Natural Resources was recognized as a Fellow of The Wildlife Society (TWS) at the Society's 2009 annual meeting in Monterey, CA.  The career award recognized Dr. Brown’s contributions to science and to The Wildlife Society.

NC State Extension Forestry and the Forestry and Environmental Outreach Program (FEOP) have been honored again for their hard work in developing and delivering the NC Woody Biomass Program. Congratulations to the NC WHEP team that placed 6^th overall at the 2009 National Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program (WHEP) Contest in Louisiana! A total of 62 4-Hers from 16 states competed in the contest that focused on the Southeastern Mixed and Outer Coastal Plains Forest habitat region.[Read More]

NC State University wood products senior Will White and textiles engineering senior Chris Wood win the 2009 National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas.  

North Carolina State University Extension Forestry's NC Woody Biomass initiative was recently honored as the North Carolina recipient of the 2009 Innovator Award from the Southern Growth Policies Board. NC State News Release - June 17, 2009

Three North Carolina State University faculty members have been chosen to participate in the Fulbright Scholars Program to teach and study abroad in the 2009-2010 academic year.
This year’s Fulbright Scholars are Dr. William J. Kinsella, an associate professor in the Department of Communication, Dr. Nora Haenn, an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and Dr. Bronson Bullock, an associate professor in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources.
