Breathing Earth

Breathing Earth is a fascinating data visualization.

You are right, Tito, this is fascinating. I sat and watched it for about 6-7 minutes and started getting hypnotized by how rapidly the US, Russia, China, and Japan were producing CO2 and how rapidly people were being born in central Africa, Mexico, the US, India, China, and Indonesia. Really illustrates the disconnect between resource use and population growth. Worse yet when a heavy resource user has heavy population growth - what a double whammy.

During that whole time I saw one birth in the Scandinavian countries and at no time did those countries register as reaching 1000 tonnes of CO2 which we do every few seconds.
