Insect Festival 2009

This "celebration for anyone with a fascination for insects" looks fantastic. The confirmed talks include:
  1. Sharon Reid, CSLAlien Invaders
  2. Anneliese Emmans Dean – Buzzing
  3. Gordon Port – Who wants to be an Entomologist?
  4. Chris Thomas, University of York – Insects on the move
Perhaps they need an excitable American hymenopterist to give a talk and be part of the festivities?!

Hi there
Greetings from across the pond, where I'm looking forward to performing my Buzzing! show (in celebration of British garden invertebrates) at the Insect Festival in my home town of York. Any chance that any of you might be there too ...?
By the way, I *love* the photos on your site. Fantastic! Keep up the great work!
Pity I only just found out about your haiku competition ... Hope you got lots of great entries.
Let me know if you'd like a Buzzing! show over where you are! (We're just back from performing it at the Oxford Playhouse, and at the largest planetarium in the UK, as part of National Science and Engineering Week - see http://thebigbuzz.wordpress.com/category/buzzing/) Though in the first instance, it's probably a lot easier just to send you a Buzzing! CD (http://thebigbuzz.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/buzzing-gets-musical-stings/)
Best wishes
Anneliese

Thanks for the comment and compliment. I wish I could take credit for the images on our blog, but I'd say only 10% come from my camera! Best of luck to you in your show. Wish we could be there.
