I see that small bee,
emerging from its tunnel.
Must mean spring is here!

My colleague and I saw a whole bunch of andrenid bees, hovering around their tunnels in the sandy soil near a sidewalk yesterday. Now I know that the seasons are transitioning (even though we're supposed to get weather in the 30's again!).

Anyway, this post also serves as a reminder that we are hosting our annual Hexapod Haiku Challenge, and the entries are due next week. We've already received some interesting entries from Romania, U.K., Japan, California, and, of course, North Carolina. We'd love to read more!
