Peer Review: Call to Action Speech
Reviewer: Kristin Freeman
Speaker: Andrew H.
Topic: Toyota Tundra
Andrew very clearly illustrated a clear need for action in his topic. He stated that we all needed to buy Toyota Tundras because it is a really good truck which would make you happy which would in turn lower the crime rate because happy people do not committ crimes. He also used persuasive strategies, argumentation and evidence to encourage the audience to act. One of his main focuses, was to use an analogy of the game "rock, paper, scissor." The rock represented the car's integrity. The paper represented the cost and the scissors represented the mechanical stability. Andrew made the audience believe that the Tundra had all three of these qualities and that is why we should buy it. This made the actions of the speech very specific.
Andrew delivered his speech well and it was very easy to understand the purpose of his speech. However, he did not have a hand out to give the class which was part of the assignment. Overall, it was a very good speech.
