Welcome and Discussion Questions

Welcome to the wolf log created by the Council on Undergraduate Education (CUE) to gather feedback concerning the new Interdisciplinary Perspectives category as part of the NCSU General Education Program (GEP).

The symposium held on April 2nd was a means of gathering information, listening to concerns, and addressing questions relating to this new category in the GEP. For those who were not able to attend the symposium and for those who did attend, this log will provide CUE with additional feedback to help the committee answer the following questions which were presented as discussion topics at the symposium.

  • What rationale defines an Interdisciplinary Perspective (IP) course?
  • What should be our specific objectives for courses in the IP category?
  • What are acceptable examples/models of IP courses?
  • What guidelines will support new IP courses?

We appreciate your posting your comments to the log or sending them directly to Brian_Matthews@ncsu.edu or Catherine_Freeman@ncsu.edu.

To view detail of the symposium, please access the CUE website at http://www.provost.ncsu.edu/governance/standing-committees/undergrad-education/2007-2008/ and follow the link.

Thank you!
