Shiitake Spawn Orders
Winter is here and that means "spawn time" for shiitake mushroom growers. The Edible and Medicinal mushroom project at NC A&T State University is taking orders for shiitake spawn, all spawn orders must be to me by January 15. The spawn should be ready by February.
Any newcomers to the program must attend a NC A&T mushroom workshop. This program is funded
through the Golden Leaf Foundation. Its purpose it the expand the
budding mushroom industry in NC by supporting growers and helping new
growers get started.
Caldwell County residents interested in growing shiitake mushrooms commercially should contact me (seth_nagy@ncsu.edu or 828 757 1290) to learn how to be part of this exciting shiitake mushroom program.
