This book is a graphic novel that takes the reader on the journey of an immigrant to a new country focusing on his perspective and experience of a foreign place. This book has no words but the graphic speak volumes. I know that middle school students will grasp this novel and learn a lot through it's pages. This book would be a great addition to reading the novel The Giver because it would give the students a glimpse of how Jonas might have felt once he left the community and ventured into the unknown.
