Your First Meeting
Once you receive your mentee names, what do you do first? Well, you should remember that as the mentor, you are expected to initiate contact with your assigned freshmen. (They have already received information on PMP from the Coordinator.) You may want to start with a friendly email where you introduce yourself and ask them to respond to some simple questions. Asking them about Symposium or move-in day might be a good way to start conversation. I'd end by asking them for a time and place when you can meet up. Try an event such as the Back to School Jam or the NASA cookout, so that they will be connected with others as well.
