Google Earth
For those of you have not used Google Earth or downloaded the newest version I would recommend checking it out! You now can explore underwater, the moon, the sky, and mars. For educators, Google Earth is a great tool to implement into lessons. There are so many assignments you can create with the program it is staggering. I would also recommend Google for Educators for ideas on implementing Google Earth into the classroom.
Google Earth is not just a map! It is a way to explore the whole world: cutlures of the world, architecture, climate change, tidal forces, and so much more. I have spent or wasted many hours playing around with this program and keep finding new things everyday.

After seeing your presentation on Google Earth, I am really interested in checking it out and finding ways I can use it with my students. I had no idea it had evolved as much as it has. It looks like an outstanding teaching tool. I can't think of too many ways students can travel around the world, in the present and the past, for free and learn by actually looking at what they are learning about.

What a fun technology to use in the classroom! I love that google earth can now sow so many aspects of our globe. This is a MUST in the classroom!
My only question would be - how do you properly watch and assess students on this tool to make sure they are using it properly and actually focusing on the assignment?

This is an awesome technology. Thank you for sharing. I am looking at different ways to incorporate activities into my classroom for those times when students complete assignments early.
Oh, I agree - it IS a "way to explore the whole world."
